(Scroll down for video) A young girl in Pennsylvania, was abducted from school and suffered horrific injuries at the hands of a former daycare worker.
The former daycare worker of Philadelphia, who kidnapped and sexually abused the 5-year-old girl received a harsh jail sentence.
22-year-old Christina Regusters was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison after being convicted of aggravated assault, kidnapping, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other offenses related to the crime.
Regusters pretended to be the mother of the girl by wearing a Muslim dress and veil to kidnap the girl from school.
Regusters then sexually abused her with a sharp object, according to prosecutors. The victim was found the next day in the playground around 5:00 a.m.
The girl suffered serious injuries and required a colostomy bag for six months. Fortunately, she has since recovered.
The mother of the victim told Regusters, that her attempt at an apology was not enough.
“I’m asking for your forgiveness,” said Regusters. “Although you cannot take it, I apologize.”
