A man was arrested after he left soiled underwear at a crime scene.
The 49-year-old man was arrested for stealing items from a house in Colorado.
Investigators took DNA from the dirty underwear that the thief left at the crime scene, police said.
Rodney Mark Hendrix is accused of breaking into the building in Denver, which houses a preschool and a church.
Hendrix left behind a pair of soiled shorts before leaving the building with many electronics and guitars, police said.
Investigators sent the underpants to a lab to have the fecal matter tested, and Hendrix’s DNA was found to be a match.
Hendrix is already in custody at the Colorado Department of Corrections on unrelated theft and drug cases. He now faces additional charges including robbery, theft and identity theft.
