A mother was arrested on a charge of manslaughter after killing her landlord because he refused to give her a red shirt that belonged to her son, police in Australia said.
Now, 27-year-old Kristy Robb of Noble Park, was convicted of manslaughter in connection with the killing of 69-year-old Alan Matthews.
According to the police investigation, Robb who separated from her partner of 12 years, rented a home from Matthews.
Robb was in the home for a couple of nights, but decided not to stay. Matthews refused to return her belongings, claiming she owed her a month’s rent.
Robb and her boyfriend, 42-year-old Gino Rachele, went to the home around 3:00 a.m., in order to retrieve the red shirt belonging to her son.
Matthews confronted Robb, and she hit him in the head. The woman and her boyfriend fled from the scene, and Matthews died of his injuries.
Rachele pleaded guilty to recklessly causing injury and was sentenced to a 1-year community order.
