(Scroll down for video) A heavily pregnant woman put her life in danger during a fight with her former boyfriend.

A video of the incident shows the woman, who is in the 8th month of pregnancy, clinging to the hood of the car driven by the father of her baby.

31-year-old Jessica Alvarado was dragged along a highway in Texas, for a mile before falling from the vehicle.

Alvarado survived without serious injuries to herself or her unborn child. Police said that the woman got into a fight with former lover Anthony Escobedo, after he showed up at a motel room where she was staying.

Escobedo, 33, stole the keys to the 2015 Kia Sorento, which she had borrowed from a friend. The mother-to-be tracked him down at a Shell gas station, and she found another woman in the vehicle.

After a confrontation, the woman tried to stop Escobedo from driving off by grabbing the windshield wiper.

Escobedo began driving on the Gulf Freeway in Houston, with the pregnant woman clinging to the hood of the car, police said.

She clung to life as Escobedo reached speeds of 25 to 30 miles per hour before she fell off the vehicle about a mile later.

She was picked up by a passing driver and was treated by paramedics for cuts and scratches on the hands and feet.

The ordeal took place in broad daylight around 1:00 p.m. Escobedo was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with misdemeanor assault of a family member.
