(Scroll down for video) Employees at Urban Outfitters, were shocked to see a notice in which the company asked employees to volunteer at one of their locations in Pennsylvania.

To keep up with the increased seasonal demand, the parent company of Urban Outfitters, which also owns Anthropologie and Free People, sent an email to employees, asking them to volunteer.

Urban Outfitters of Philadelphia, asked its employees to participate in a team-building activity by picking, packing and preparing packages for shipment.

The company wants their employees to work for free to help out at the fulfillment center in Gap, Pennsylvania.

October will be a very active month for the center, and additional assistance is needed to ensure timely delivery of orders, the company said.

The company urged volunteers to wear comfortable sneakers and clothes.
