A husband and wife are making headlines for their generous donations to the poor.
Julia Wise and Jeff Kaufman of Massachusetts, said that they are not rich, but they both have a giving spirit.
The two who have one daughter named Lily and are expecting their second child, said that they live on 6 percent of their income so that they can give away the rest.
The two like to help those who are less fortunate and they have donated as much as $128,000 in one year, according to the couple’s financial disclosure report.
Julia Wise is a social worker and her husband Jeff Kaufman, is a software engineer at Google in Medford, Massachusetts.
The two who have been married since 2009, said that they are not rich by the U.S. standard, but they view the money they earn as belonging “to whoever needs it most.”
“Every dollar I spend is a dollar out of the hands of someone who needs it more than me,” Wise wrote on her blog.
“I always felt that way, and I was lucky enough to find someone who thinks similarly about giving,” she added.
The family said that they spend their money on the things they really value and they give the rest of their money to different charities.
