(Scroll down for video) A man filed a lawsuit against a park in California, after a pine cone fell from a tree and onto his head.
51-year-old Sean Mace of San Francisco, is suing the U.S. government, the National Park Service, Department of the Interior and San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park.
He is seeking $5 million in damages after suffering head injuries. Mace claims that when he was resting under a tree in the park, a cone fell, causing him irreversible brain damage.
Mace already had two surgeries and is scheduled to undergo a third. After the incident, park officials cordoned off the area and added warning signs.
Mace said that the pine cone that hit his head weighed 16 pounds. His skull was crushed on impact. He was treated at the San Francisco General Hospital.
