(Scroll down for video) A woman of New York, appeared in court against her nephew after her wrist was broken at his birthday party.
Jennifer Connell is suing her 12-year-old nephew, claiming that he accidentally broke her wrist at his eighth birthday party.
Connell, 54, is seeking $127,000 in damages from Sean Tarala of Connecticut.
Connell said that her nephew jumped into her arms when she arrived at his 8th birthday party 4 years ago.
In court, Connell, who works as a human resource manager, said that her nephew is “very affectionate and sensitive” towards her.
The court heard that Sean had just received a red bicycle for his birthday and was riding when Connell came to their home in Westport.
Connell told the court that Sean was thrilled to see her and he ran towards her. “Suddenly he was in the air, I had to catch he and we both fell,” Connell said.
When the two fell she broke her wrist. She wanted Judge Edward Stodolink to hold the 12-year-old youth accountable for his actions.
Connell said that she did not mention the injury to anyone as she did not want to ruin the birthday party.
The boy was in court with his father as his mother Lisa, who died last year.
The judge rejected the woman’s lawsuit.
