(Scroll down for video) A woman was shocked when a young boy found her loaded gun and began playing with it.
The boy of South Carolina, shot his grandmother after finding the gun in the back seat of his great-aunt’s car.
Officer Mark Bollinger of the Rock Hill Police Department, said that the 40-year-old grandmother will recover from the gunshot wound.
The 2-year-old child shot his grandmother in the back with a .357 magnum revolver while she was sitting in the passenger seat of her sister’s car.
The great-aunt who was driving the car, admitted that she should have removed the weapon, and she is advising other parents to learn from her mistake.
The woman, who did not want to be named, explained that she has the gun because she lives alone and travels alone in her 2-door car. “I’m vulnerable,” she said.
The woman said that she never takes children in her car. However, this time, her sister was stranded and needed a ride.
The woman said that the situation shocked her. She knows that she could have faced jail time, and lost her career and her freedom.
She is grateful that her sister did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
