A government minister in Japan, is being accused of breaking into a woman’s home and stealing her underwear.
59-year-old Tsuyoshi Takagi of Tsuruga, allegedly stole the 20-year-old woman’s underwear about 30 years ago.
Takagi, who is the minister of reconstruction and in charge of areas affected by the tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disaster, refuse to comment on the matter because it is irrelevant to his work.
Takagi is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party.
Residents in his district have slammed the government for appointing Takagi as the minister of reconstruction, saying that he was known in the area as an underwear thief.
At the time of the incident, Takagi was questioned by police, but no charges have been filed.
