A hospital patient was arrested on a charge of burglary after covering himself in feces and stealing items from the cardiology department of the Ipswich Hospital, police in the United Kingdom said.

Now, 40-year-old Trevor Parnham of Ipswich, has been sentenced to serve 10 months in jail after pleading guilty to burglary.

According to the police investigation, Parnham checked himself into the hospital around 3:00 a.m., and he was treated.

He was discharged around 5:00 a.m., but instead of leaving, he went into the kitchen area of the hospital, threw uniforms on the floor and slept on them.

He was woken up by a chef, and Parnham left the scene. The chef discovered the dirty uniforms on the floor, and noticed that a package of potato chips was missing.

Parnham was found around 6:45 a.m. in the cardiology department. He was covered in feces and found in possession of a stolen computer.

As a result, the entire cardiology department was shut down and had to be deep cleaned, causing delays of vital heart surgeries.
