(Scroll down for video) A brave boy said that he was able to escape his kidnappers by using skills he learned from watching gangster movies.

The 13-year-old boy escaped his captors despite having his hands and feet tied by using skills he learned from watching violent movies.

The boy, who was identified as Yi of Fuxin near Sichuan, China, was abducted while he was walking to school.

Yi was taken to a nearby abandoned house, where his hands were tied behind his back, his feet were tied together and a plastic bag was placed over his head.

The kidnapper then used tape to seal the bag around the boy’s neck. He made a breathing hole big enough for a straw so that the child would not die.

When Yi heard his abductor leave the abandoned house, he managed to pull himself out of the room and escape.

Yi said that he decided to take the chance to escape after seeing the same thing happen in gangster movies.

A passing motorist spotted Yi, stopped to help him and called the police. Photos of the boy in distress were uploaded to the Internet. The photos show the boy with a bag on his head, and his hands and feet tied up.

Police have arrested a suspect in the case, and are still investigating the motive behind the kidnapping.
