Mother pushes her 11-year-old son in front of oncoming train

A mother was arrested after she pushed her son in front of a moving train.

Police in Germany, said that the 31-year-old mother suddenly pushed her 11-year-old son in front of an oncoming train as travelers watched in horror.

The boy, who was identified as Leon, survived, but he was seriously injured when he fell onto the tracks at the Hoheluftbruecke railway station in Hamburg.

The train driver was unable to stop in time and the young boy’s leg was crushed under the wheels.

It took firefighters and paramedics nearly 40 minutes to free the child, who remained conscious throughout the ordeal.

The boy did not suffer life-threatening injuries. However, his leg had to be amputated.

The boy’s mother, who was identified as 31-year-old Jana, was arrested at the scene. She was taken to a hospital to have a psychiatric evaluation amid reports that she is suffering from a psychological condition.
