A man was arrested on a charge of trespassing after allegedly refusing to leave an aquarium when he was told to do so, police in California said.
Santa Monica police said that they have arrested 31-year-old Ivan Estrada Palacios, after staring at the fish of the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, while it was closed.
He was charged with one count of trespassing, and his bail was set at $5,000.
According to the police investigation, Palacios climbed over a fence and entered the aquarium located on the 1600 block of Ocean Front Walk around 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Palacios went inside to watch the fish despite the fact that the aquarium was closed for a private tour. Palacios was asked to leave the premises several times, but he did not answer and kept looking at the fish.
Three staff members then helped the manager to get Palacios to leave the premises. Palacios finally left and fell asleep under a tree.
