(Scroll down for video) Police are looking to arrest a thief on a charge of theft after allegedly stealing a human leg from an organ donation organization, police in California said.
Los Angeles police said that the human leg was stolen from a van belonging to the OneLegacy organization as it was parked outside the Original Pantry Cafe around 5:00 a.m. on Monday.
As employees were eating breakfast at the restaurant, the thief broke into the unmarked van and stole a cooler containing the human leg.
The organization has notified the donor’s family about the unfortunate situation.
A spokesperson for OneLegacy said that it is reviewing its operational procedures to ensure that such an event does not repeat itself in the future.
The thief also stole two backpacks belonging to the employees.
So far, no arrests have been made and the leg was not recovered.
