A man who was arrested on a charge of theft for stealing a bike, told police that he is god and everything belongs to him, police in California said.
Santa Monica College police said that they have arrested 37-year-old Dionte Thompson, after being accused of stealing the bike belonging to the city.
Thompson was charged with grand theft and probation violation. He was booked into jail, and his bail was set at $20,000.
According to the police investigation, on Friday around 2:00 p.m., a woman saw Thompson vigorously shaking a street sign in an attempt to steal the green bicycle that was chained to the pole.
The woman then saw him take the bike and dragging it to Pearl Street.
Thompson tried to pull something off the bike, and when he was unsuccessful, he left the bike in the 2200 block of Pearl Street.
As Thompson was driven to the police station, he told the officers that he did not steal the bike because he is god and everything belongs to him.
