(Scroll down for video) A firefighter is in trouble after assaulting a man over food.
The restless firefighter of Brookline, Massachusetts, is accused of beating the man after it took him too long to order his food, according to court documents.
The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on a Sunday at Anna’s Taqueria on Harvard Street.
According to a police report, Joseph Ward was at the restaurant when the 53-year-old man was ordering food. Ward asked him to order quickly.
Ward claims that the victim challenged him to take the fight to the street, so he did. Witnesses saw the firefighter beating the victim in the face and with a bottle.
The 37-year-old firefighter allegedly straddled the man and began to beat him with both hands while the victim did not fight back, according to witnesses.
Ward was seen cursing the victim, who is said to be homeless. Surveillance video captured the alleged assault.
Ward has been placed on administrative. He was charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
