(Scroll down for video) A woman was rushed to a hospital after being shot by her dog that she named Trigger, during a hunting expedition, police Indiana said.
Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area police said that 25-year-old Allie Carter, put her shotgun on the ground while she was hunting on Saturday around 10:00 a.m.
Her 10-year-old dog that she named Trigger, stepped on the gun and it discharged. Carter was hit in the left foot and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The injuries were not considered life threatening. No charges will be filed as the woman has a gun license. Officials have urged hunters to properly train their dogs for hunting.
The dog did not suffer any injuries. Police said that people can go to safe hunting courses free of charge by signing up at dnr.in.gov.
