A flight attendant was arrested on a charge of drug smuggling after allegedly smuggling drugs by stuffing it inside his leggings, police in Florida said.
Fort Lauderdale police said that they have arrested 39-year-old Rohan Myers, after being caught at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport with 6.5 pounds of cocaine.
He arrived at the airport on Tuesday, on Caribbean Airlines Flight 39 from Montego Bay, Jamaica.
According to the police investigation, Myers became very nervous when officers of the Customs and Border Protection searched his luggage.
He began to sweat profusely when asked about a pair of pants in his luggage. He was escorted to a private room for a full body search.
Myers then admitted to having cocaine, which he is supposed to take with him to a hotel. Myers removed a pair of leggings, and police found 6.5 pounds of cocaine.
In court, Myers pleaded guilty to one count of drug smuggling.
Myers claimed that this was his first attempt to smuggle drugs, and he was paid $10,000. He faces up to three years in prison.
Myers will be deported after serving his sentence.
