Police are looking to arrest a serial killer on a charge of animal abuse after allegedly cutting up cats and taking their body parts as trophies, police in the United Kingdom said.

London police said that they launched an investigation after two cats were found dead near their homes in the past two weeks.

A total of four animals are believed to have been killed in the past two months by the same person.

Police said that the evidence at the scene points to a serial killer because some body parts were dumped on the owner’s property.

This week, two more cats were found dismembered.

47-year-old Wayne Bryant told investigators that his 8-year-old cat was beheaded on Saturday. The head and tail of his cat Amber were missing.

The tail and a leg of another cat were found last week. Earlier this month, police were called to the scene of a dead cat, but when they arrived, the body was already gone.

A fourth cat was found with a missing leg on Bywood Avenue in Woodside. Over the past 2 years, police believe that the serial killer is responsible for the deaths of 21 cats.
