A man was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries after a sofa fell from the top floor of a luxury hotel in the United Kingdom.
London police said that the 20-year-old pedestrian, who was not identified, was walking in front of the W Hotels on Wardour Street around 9:00 a.m. on Friday, when a sofa fell 130 feet from the top floor of the building.
The man was rushed to the Royal London Hospital, where he is said to be in a critical condition. A witness at the scene said that the man’s face was ripped off.
Another witness said that the 2-seater sofa was stuck on the man’s head and there was blood everywhere. A spokesperson for the W Hotels said that the sofa belonged to one of the private apartments on the top floor of the building.
A 2-bedroom apartment at the W Hotels in London, costs around $15,000 per month.
