An Uber driver and a customer were arrested on a charge of prostitution after allegedly agreeing to accept sexual acts as payment instead of cash, police in Florida.
Pinellas County police said that they have arrested 42-year-old Jason Lynch and 41-year-old Elizabeth Santos, after officers saw Santos performing a sex act on Lynch in his car.
The two suspects were charged with prostitution and lewd and lascivious behavior. They were booked into jail, and Lynch’s bail was set at $500 while Santos’ bail was set at $5,250.
Santos has a history of prostitution. According to the police investigation, Lynch picked up Santos on Wednesday around 4:30 p.m.
The incident unfolded on 34th Street, which is an area known for prostitution. Lynch parked his car in a lot near North 52nd Avenue and 26th Court North.
There were private residences in front and around the car, and pedestrians were walking in the area. Officers arrested the couple after they saw Santos performing a sex act on Lynch.
During questioning, the driver admitted that he agreed to accept sexual services instead of a cash payment.
