A mental hospital nurse was arrested on a charge of possession of child pornography after being caught with thousands of child pornography images, police in the United Kingdom said.
Now, Andrew Blockley of Bristol, has been sentenced to 36 months of probation and was ordered to attend a sex offender’s treatment program for 42 days.
He was also suspended by the Nursing and Midwifery Council for 19 months.
According to the police investigation, Blockley was working at the Avon & Wiltshire Partnership Mental Health Trust, when his computer activity raised suspicion of child pornography.
Police obtained a search warrant and raided Blockley home, where they seized several computers. The computers were examined by specialists, and they found a large quantity of child pornography photos.
Blockley deleted the photos, but the specialists managed to recover 13,500 child pornography images. All images were created over a two year period.
