A doctor was arrested on a charge of sexual assault after allegedly sexually assaulting more than 20 women during medical exams, police in the United Kingdom said.

Luton police said that they have arrested 50-year-old Robert Lewis, after being accused of groping 23 female ambulance workers during their initial medical exam.

He was charged with 37 counts of sexual assault, and he pleaded not guilty.

According to the police investigation, the indecent assaults took place in the context of a medical examination while a nurse was present in the room.

He was taking advantage of young women who were desperate to pass the medical exam and get a job.

One victim told police that the doctor acted like a 14-year-old boy when he touched her chest as if it was the first time he ever felt a woman.

He told her that he was checking for lumps in her breasts, but it was obvious what he had a mind. Another woman, 18, claimed that the doctor removed her bra without warning and ordered her to drop her pants.

He then slipped his hand into her underwear.

After examining the breasts of the woman with a stethoscope, the doctor told her that he will show her how to examine breasts.

He then squeezed for an extended period of time.
