A supermodel died of alcohol poisoning after being paid $50 for each cup she drank as part of a drinking game at a bar, police in Singapore said.
27-year-old Kim Seoa of South Korea, was at the club when someone challenged the women to an alcohol drinking game.
According to witnesses at the scene, Seoa was seen pouring 10 to 12 shots of alcohol in a glass and consuming them.
The model, who had a low tolerance for alcohol because she did not usually drink, was found to have a blood alcohol content level of four times the legal limit for driving.
Her cause of death was certified as acute alcohol poisoning.
The incident unfolded at The Prestige KTV located on Merchant Road around 11:00 p.m., while Seoa was attending a birthday party of an acquaintance.
Around 12:30 a.m., Billy Kon of Hong Kong, proposed an alcohol drinking game. He pulled from his pocket around $7,000 in $50 notes and gave $50 for each cup of alcohol consumed by a woman.
Seoa joined in the drinking game. The game lasted about half an hour, after which Seoa was seen sleeping on a couch in a sitting position.
Around 1:30 a.m., her lips turned purple and she did not respond.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene performed CPR, and she was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she as declared dead on arrival.
Police found no evidence of foul play.
