(Scroll down for video) A man in Ohio, was arrested for asking his neighbor’s young son to drive him to a store.
27-year-old Cory Mathias invited his neighbor’s 9-year-old son for dinner.
While cooking, he realized that he was out of barbecue sauce. The Tiffin Police Department said that Mathias, who was too drunk to drive, asked the 9-year-old boy to drive him to a gas station for more sauce.
A police spokesman said that the boy drove the two blocks to the gas station on Saturday night, and he did a good job getting there safely.
When they finished their purchase, the 9-year-old boy attempted to get behind the wheel, but was stopped by workers at the store.
Police said that Mathias began driving, but workers called police, and he was soon stopped and arrested.
Mathias’ blood alcohol content was four times the legal limit. He was arrested, and he faces charges including child endangerment, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusing a chemical breath test and driving under suspension.
Police said that the child’s parents did not know the neighbor was drunk and they had no idea that he asked their son to drive his vehicle.
