(Scroll down for video) A police officer who made over 100 arrests of people who were driving drunk, missed his award ceremony after he showed up drunk.

Officer Michael Szeliga of Florida, made a fool of himself after he was caught drunk at the Mothers Against Drunk Driving conference in Fort Lauderdale.

The officer was set to get an award by MADD for arresting 100 drunk drivers. However, he was not allowed to attend the ceremony because he was drunk.

Szeliga was seen staggering while drunk at the Friday night banquet, which hosted about 200 guests. Gulfport Police Chief Robert Vincent found Szeliga drunk and told his supervisor, who order Szeliga not to go the banquet as it would be totally inappropriate.

Szeliga and his colleagues were at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Hotel in Fort Lauderdale for two days of training. During the training, Szeliga was allegedly seen walking in the hallway of the hotel drunk and without his pants.

Szeliga was also caught with a bottle of Jameson Irish whiskey in his sheriff’s patrol car before driving off with two other deputies.

Szeliga was disciplined for his drunken behavior by being suspended for one day without pay.
