The teenager committed suicide by allowing his highly venomous cobra bite him repeatedly, according to an autopsy report.

18-year-old Grant Thompson of Texas, was found unresponsive in his car in a parking lot in Austin, with puncture wounds to his arm.

Emergency personnel were called at 9:30 p.m., after Thompson was unresponsive in a car parked outside a Lowe’s home improvement store on Interstate 35 near Parmer Lane.

His vehicle was filled with tarantulas and snakes that were in their cages, but the cage of his cobra was open and the highly poisonous snake was missing.

The body of the teenager showed no signs of a struggle with the reptile, the report said. Shortly before his death, Thompson wrote an “I’m sorry,” on Facebook.

The teenager, who loved animals, worked in a pet shop, which his family bought for him two years ago. His death was ruled to be suicide by snakebite. Thompson died in St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center after suffering cardiac arrest.

The cobra that disappeared after the incident and was found two days later in the grass a short distance from Thompson’s car.
