A young man was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly throwing bananas at his girlfriend because she refused to help him clean his urine before a drug test, police in Florida said.

Cape Coral police said that they have arrested 18-year-old Derek Charles Jeunegens, after being accused of throwing objects at his girlfriend and choking her because she refused to buy him a product called “detox,” which helps addicts pass drug urine tests.

Jeunegens was charged with battery and he was booked into the Lee County jail.

According to the police investigation, officers were called to the couple’s home located on 9th Street NW on Tuesday morning.

A woman who identified herself as Jeunegens’ girlfriend, told police that her boyfriend came home under the influence of drugs or alcohol and told her to buy him “detox.”

Jeunegens is on probation and wanted his urine to test clean.

When the woman refused, Jeunegens began yelling. He then grabbed her and threw her on the bed. As a result of the assault, the woman cut her tongue.

Jeunegens also slapped her, pulled her hair and hit the back of her head against a wall. A friend tried to intervene, but Jeunegens remained aggressive and started throwing bananas on his girlfriend.

The woman left the home and called the police.
