(Scroll down for video) A safe driving education teacher in Florida, was suspended from school after being caught driving drunk.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 51-year-old Richard Bull, after being accused of driving drunk and crashing his car into a ditch.
Bull was charged with driving under the influence. He was booked into the Lee County Jail, and his bail was set at $3,000.
According to the police investigation, Bull teaches safe driving at the Riverdale High School. On Tuesday around 10:00 p.m., Bull crashed his black Dodge Ram 1500 outside a McDonald’s on Palm Beach Boulevard.
Police officers who arrived at the scene, questioned Bull about the crash. He told police that his friend Josh drove his vehicle into the ditch because he was too drunk to drive.
After the vehicle crashed, Josh fled from the scene. Witnesses at the restaurant identified Bull as the driver. Bull’s blood alcohol level was 0.159, nearly twice the legal limit.
A spokesperson for the school district said that Bull taught safe driving for 10 years. The spokesperson also said that Bull will no longer teach safe driving at the school.
