A woman was arrested on a charge of filing a false police report after allegedly calling police to report that she was assaulted so that her boyfriend could drive home drunk from a bar, police in New Jersey said.

The Wayne Police Department said that they have arrested 25-year-old Hayley Oates, after being accused of distracting police as her boyfriend was driving drunk.

Oates was charged with filing false reports to law enforcement and creating a false public alarm.

According to the police investigation, Oates called police on Monday around 3:30 a.m., to report that she was being attacked in the parking lot of Mother’s Ale House.

Before hanging up the phone, Oates said that the suspect was driving a blue truck. Police officers who quickly responded to the scene, found no evidence of the assault.

They reviewed surveillance cameras and the video did not show anything. Police determined that the call was a false alarm in order to distract them from something else.

During a thorough investigation, police learned that Oates boasted on Facebook that the police are silly piggies for responding to a false report within two minutes.

At the time of the false 911 call, Oates’ boyfriend left the Grasshopper bar and grill, and drove home while under the influence of alcohol.
