A man was arrested on a charge of theft after allegedly stealing an SUV from a car dealership and driving through the closed glass front doors, police in Florida said.
Ocala police said that they have arrested 46-year-old Vantice L. Beshears, after being accused of getting into a 2014 Toyota 4Runner at the Honda of Ocala, and driving it through the front glass doors.
Beshears was charged with grand theft over $20,000 and commercial burglary. He was booked into the Marion County Jail, and his bail was set at $23,500.
According to the police investigation, Beshears entered Honda of Ocala around 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, placed two televisions into the SUV and drove through the glass doors in an attempt to escape.
Beshears hit another vehicle before jumping out from the truck he was driving. Police officers who arrived at the scene, found the SUV parked outside and Beshears walking nearby.
Beshears appeared to be intoxicated. During questioning, he told officers that he doesn’t remember anything.
