A man in China, has secured free first-class plane tickets for life for him and his family after using a credit card to purchase a $170 million painting.
Billionaire Liu Yiqian Liu bought a painting, showing a nude woman reclining on a sofa for $170 million at Christie’s in New York.
The painting was created by Amedeo Modigliani. Liu used his American Express card to pay for the painting. The American Express Centurion card has no official credit limit.
As a result of the purchase, Liu earned 170 million membership reward points. Liu and his wife, said that they planned to use the points to allow their family to travel first class for the rest of their lives.
With 170 million points, Liu and his family could travel anywhere 3,000 times in first class.
