A miracle healer was arrested on a charge of causing death after allegedly persuading parents of a sick boy to stop giving him insulin because he will exorcise the angel of death, police in Japan said.

Tochigi police said that they have arrested 60-year-old Hiroji Kondo, following the death of 7-year-old Shun Imai, who suffered from type 1 diabetes.

According to the police investigation, Kondo instructing the 40-year-old parents to stop giving their son insulin despite knowing that he will likely die.

Kondo, who calls himself a miracle healer, received several million yen from the child’s parents in exchange for healing the boy.

The parents, who are being investigated for negligence, told investigators that Kondo promised them that he could cure any disease.

Kondo repeatedly rubbed the body of the boy and chanted a spell as part of his treatment. Kondo told the parents to stop giving their son insulin because he will exorcise the angel of death from his stomach.

The parents stopped giving their son insulin after he was released from the hospital. The boy was rushed back to the hospital after becoming extremely ill.

After the boy’s condition improved, he was released from the hospital. The parents then stopped giving insulin again, causing their son to become increasingly weak.

He eventually died in the hospital as a result of stopping the insulin treatments.
