(Scroll down for video) An animal lover was arrested on a charge of criminal mischief after allegedly feeding water to pigs on a hot day, police in Canada said.

Toronto police said that they have arrested 48-year-old Anita Krajnc, after being accused of clashing with a truck driver during an argument over feeding water to pigs.

Krajnc, who is the founder of Toronto Pig Save, was charged with one count of criminal mischief. If convicted, Krajnc faces up to 10 years in prison.

According to the police investigation, Krajnc tried to give the pigs water as the vehicle stopped at a traffic light on the way to a processing plant.

The driver, Jeffery Veldjesgraaf, left the truck to confront Krajnc. He threatened to call the police and a shouting match broke out.

The owner of the pigs, Eric Van Boekel, filed a complaint with the police the following day.
