A man was arrested on a charge of sexual assault after allegedly groping several girls outside their school, police in New York said.

Queens police said that they have arrested 25-year-old Sagheer Rehman, after being accused of approaching two girls outside the John Bowne High School, before attacking them.

Rehman of 64 Avenue in Flushing, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.

If convicted, the defendant faces up to seven years in prison.

According to the police investigation, Rehman approached a 16-year-old girl on Main Street near 60 Avenue around 1:50 p.m., and asked if she’d like to see his guitar.

The teen agreed and walked to the rear of a nearby house with
the Rehman. Once behind the house, Rehman squeezed the girl’s behind.

The youngster pushed him away and screamed for help. A few days later, Rehman approached a 15-year-old girl on Main Street near 56 Avenue around 3:30 p.m.

He asked her questions, including if she attended the John Bowne High School. He also asked her for a hug, and when the girl said no, he groped her by grabbing her behind.

The teen shoved him away and yelled for help.

A half hour later, Rehman walked up to a 23-year-old woman on Main Street near 58 Road, and asked if she attended the nearby high school.

He also asked for a hug. The young lady declined to be hugged.

Rehman then fondled her chest.

When she pushed him away, Rehman threw her onto the lawn of a residence on 58 Road, and continued to squeeze her chest while rubbing himself against her behind.

Rehman told police that he did approach the women and asked if they attended the John Bowne High School. He also admitted to asking for a hug, and said if he touched their chests or behinds, it was by accident.
