(Scroll down for video) The wife of a police officer was arrested on a charge of burglary after she was caught stealing gifts from a police officer’s home, police in Florida said.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested Dana Hagar, after being accused of walking over to her neighbor’s house and stealing gifts belonging to the police officer’s 2-year-old daughter.
Hagar was charged with one count of burglary. She was booked into the Polk County jail, and was released on bail.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded around 10:00 p.m. on Friday, despite the fact that everyone was at the home.
Surveillance video of the incident was uploaded on Facebook, where it went viral. Feeling embarrassed by being caught, Hagar returned the stolen items on Monday around 4:30 a.m.
This was not the first time that Hagar has been arrested for theft as she is currently on probation for shoplifting in an unrelated case.
