(Scroll down for video) Police surrounded and stormed a public city bus after numerous passengers freaked out when they saw a man carrying what appeared to be a sword, police in the United Kingdom said.

London police said that on Thursday around 9:00 a.m., they received calls from panicked passengers on a public bus about a man who was armed with a sword.

Numerous police cars and officers rushed to the scene and stormed the bus, but the man has already left the scene. Police reviewed video surveillance footage of the bus, and managed to track down the man.

After a few minutes, the officers realized that passengers mistook the man’s umbrella for a sword. Police refused to identify the man’s race.

This was not the first time that a bus passenger’s umbrella was mistaken for a weapon.

On Monday, Ray Brown, who is black and has a beard, revealed that police boarded his public train in Deptford, after passengers mistook his umbrella for a samurai sword.
