A judge was rushed to a hospital after being punched in the face several times by a man who didn’t like her ruling, police in Ireland said.
Justice Miriam Walsh of Dublin, suffered severe injuries to her face after it took time for court officers to stop the vicious attack by the man who testified in court.
The suspect, who was not identified, also assaulted a court registrar who tried to protect the judge. The court registrar was also taken to a hospital for treatment.
The judge was taken on a stretcher by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where she was treated and released. She did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Walsh presides over a family court at Dolphin’s House in Temple Bar. The judge suffered a broken nose and several lacerations on her face.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and charged with assault.
