(Scroll down for video) A police officer who was dispatched to a fatal car crash, was shocked to find his wife deceased.
The officer was responding to the scene of a crash on Lewis Road in South Carolina, when he discovered that his wife was the victim.
45-year-old Teresa Browder was killed when another vehicle crashed into her vehicle in Sumter County. She was on her way to meet her husband, who was very close to the crash site.
Browder, who was driving an SUV around 9:00 a.m. and had her seatbelt on at the time of the incident, died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Her husband, Wayne Browder, was the deputy who responded to the fatal collision. He had no idea that his wife was involved in the car crash.
Lance Cpl. David Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said that a 26-year-old man crossed the centerline of Lewis Road while traveling north. He struck Browder, who was headed south.
He also struck another vehicle, whose occupant was taken to a hospital.
Browder worked as a nurse at the Clarendon Memorial Hospital for 25 years. She left behind her husband and three daughters, who are 12, 14, and 18 years old.
