Police in Florida, said that 24-year-old Patrick Rempe of Vero Beach, crashed his car into the front door of the facility,
saying that he wants to visit friends in the Indian River County Jail.
When he was unsuccessful in smashing the door with his car, he got out and began to climb the fence, but he did not get far as he became entangled in barbed wire.
Rempe was rescued from the barbed wire by emergency workers, and was taken to a hospital. It was determined that Rempe was high on a drug called flakka.
He is facing charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, battery on a law enforcement officer, three counts of felony criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and driving under the influence.
