A mother handed her teenage son over to police after finding thousands of dollars in his dirty underpants before being able to hand over the cash to ISIS, police in Australia said.
Sydney police said that they have arrested 23-year-old Omarjan Azari and 26-year-old Ali Al-Talebi, after the teen, who was not identified, revealed that he was supposed to hand over $9,000 to ISIS.
The two men are accused of giving $13,000 to ISIS. Prosecutors have agreed to give the teen immunity in exchange for his testimony against the two suspects.
According to the police investigation, the two suspects lured the teenager into their scheme after they met him at the Parramatta Mosque.
The men advised the teen to take the cash to Western Union, and instructed him where to send the funds.
Two sums of just over $2,100 were sent last year, but a transfer of $9,000 failed because the teenager could not pay the costs associated with the payment.
He took the money home, where his mother found the money hidden in his dirty underpants.
