A grandmother was arrested on a charge of trespassing after allegedly wearing a fake while sneaking into school to visit her estranged grandson, police in Iowa said.
Iowa City police said that they have arrested 66-year-old Gloria Laniece Bryan, after being caught in her grandson’s school, where she pretended to be an old sick man.
Bryan was charged with one count of harassment and one count of trespassing. She was booked into the Johnson County Jail, and released on bail.
According to the police investigation, on Thursday, Bryan posed as an elderly man with a white long beard. She came to the school and was allowed to enter the cafeteria.
She located her grandson, who was eating lunch at the time.
She gave him candy and a toy before being caught by school employees. When she was confronted, Bryan fled from the scene.
The mother of the child called to the police, saying that she was an order of protection against the grandmother because she is afraid that her son will be abducted.
Detectives spoke with Bryan, and she admitted to sneaking into school to see her grandson. The suspect also told police that she is desperate to see him.
