(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly killing his elderly mother because she bought a new wheelchair without his permission, police in Japan said.
Mie police said that they have arrested 52-year-old Norio Uechi, after being accused of killing 82-year-old Yasuko Uechi.
Norio Uechi was charged with one count of murder.
According to the police investigation, on Friday night, Norio Uechi attacked his mother and placed a towel around her mother, causing her to suffocate.
The morning after the incident, the suspect called his 56-year-old sister, and said that his mother was ill. When the suspect's sister came to the home, she saw that blood was coming out of her mouth.
She called for help, and paramedics arrived at the scene, where
the elderly woman was declared dead.
During questioning, the suspect told police that he became angry because his mother bought a new electric wheelchair without his permission and he had no money to cover the purchase.
