(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly shooting a woman in the eye because she didn’t believe in God, police in Arizona said.
The Phoenix Police Department said that they have arrested 39-year-old Anitra Braxton, after being accused of killing the woman and leaving her on a couch.
Braxton was charged with one count of first-degree murder.
She was booked into the Maricopa County jail, and her bail was set $750,000.
According to the police investigation, Braxton called the police to report that there was a dead woman in her home located at 1515 W. Missouri Avenue.
When officers arrived at the apartment, Braxton told police that no one was inside and that she lived alone. However, the officers noticed what appeared to be a body lying on the sofa.
Police obtained a search warrant for the apartment, and they found the body of the woman on the couch under a towel. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the eye.
While being questioned, Braxton told the police that the victim was actually her own body. She later told police that the victim had been shot in the eye for not believing in God.
Police also learned that the body had been inside her apartment for two to three days.
