Costa Coffee serves customer 2 drinks with blood

A woman in the United Kingdom, was horrified to discover that blood was mixed into the two drinks she bought at Costa Coffee.

Now, Costa Coffee has issued an apology to 30-year-old Janine Hughes, who claimed that she was served blood with drinks she bought at a drive-thru window in Swansea.

Hughes sent the blood to a lab for tests. Hughes said that a worker who served her the drinks had a cut hand at some of the blood dripped into her coffee.

The woman took a few sips of her coffee and it tasted like iron.

She immediately realized that something was wrong but did not know that her coffee had blood, until she saw some under the lid.

Hughes went back into the store and asked to see the manager. She was offered new drinks. Costa Coffee said that this was an isolated incident.

Hughes said that she will probably never go back to Costa Coffee.

14-year-old girl publicizes video showing toddler performing sex act on her (video)

(Scroll down for video) A 14-year-old girl was arrested on charges of criminal sexual conduct after she publicizing a video, showing a toddler performing a sex act on her, police in South Carolina said.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office said that police were flooded with calls on Thursday, after the video was shared on Facebook.

Officers were able to quickly identify the suspect after a concerned citizen provided information about the child and her home address.

According to the police investigation, the 14-year-old girl recorded the video of the toddler performing the sex act and she sent it to her boyfriend.

The 14-year-old girl was booked into the Department of Juvenile Justice. Two other children at the home have been taken into custody by the Department of Social Services.

Mother drives around city smoking marijuana while her 4-year-old daughter nearly freezes to death wandering on the street (video)

(Scroll down for video) A mother was arrested on charges of risk of injury to a minor after she left her young children alone while smoking marijuana with a friend , police in Connecticut said.

New London Police said that they have arrested 23-year-old Rebecca Reyes, after being accused of leaving her three young children home alone at 2:00 a.m.

According to the police investigation, Reyes called for help early on Friday morning, to report that her 4-year-old daughter was missing.

She told officers that she put the child to bed around 12:30 a.m., along with her two other children, aged 2 and 5. When she went to check on them around 3:00 a.m., her 4-year-old daughter was gone.

However, the woman’s five-year-old child told detectives that Mommy was not home. Reyes then admitted that she left them home at 2:00 a.m. with a friend to smoke marijuana.

She told police she returned around 3:00 a.m., and realized that her 4-year-old daughter was gone. Police said that they found the girl near a neighbor’s house.

The girl was nearly unconscious and her body temperature had dropped to 92 degrees. The child was taken by ambulance to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Reyes was booked into jail and her bail was set at $250,000.

The grandfather took custody of the 4-year-old girl, while the Department of Children and Families are caring for the other children.

Woman spits at paramedic and bites his finger while being taken to hospital during medical emergency

A woman was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly spitting at a paramedic who was taking her to a hospital, police in Louisiana said.

Baton Rouge Police said that they have arrested 23-year-old Marissa Mays, after being accused of assaulting the emergency medical technician (EMT) on her way to the hospital.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded while Mays was being transported to the Baton Rouge General’s Mid City Facility by ambulance on Thursday, for an unknown medical emergency.

At some point during the ride, Mays began to spit in the face of the paramedic who was assisting her. The paramedic tried to place something on her face, but she bit his finger.

The paramedic was able to get away from Mays. When the ambulance arrived at the hospital, a police officer was notified.

When the officer arrived at the emergency room to speak with Mays, she was spitting and trying to bite a security guard and nurses.

Mays was arrested and booked into jail.

Man rapes young mother while she was breastfeeding her baby

A man was arrested, charged and convicted of rape after raping numerous women, including a young mother who was breastfeeding her baby, prosecutors in South Africa said.

Now, the North Gauteng High Court sentenced 27-year-old Simone Sithole of Pretoria, to 564 years in prison after pleading guilty to 45 charges.

Sithole pleaded guilty to 21 counts of rape, sexual assault, robbery with aggravating circumstances and illegal possession of a firearm.

His youngest victim was 11 years old and three other victims were 16 years old when they were raped.

All victims were threatened with a firearm or another dangerous weapon, and most were tied before they were raped and robbed of cell phones, cash, clothes and jewelry.

Prosecutors told the court how Sithole raped one young mother while she was breastfeeding her baby. Sithole was caught after using a stolen cellphone.

He was later linked to 21 rapes through DNA testing. Sithole has a girlfriend and a young daughter, and worked in a hair salon while committing the crimes.

Police officers poisons her colleagues and senior citizens by pouring bleach into their drinks

A former police officer was arrested, charged and convicted of attempted murder after pouring bleach into the drinks of her colleagues at a senior citizen care facility, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.

23-year-old Melissa Swift, who worked as a special agent with the West Midlands Police, told the Birmingham Crown Court that she poured bleach into drinks that everyone at the care facility had access to including her sister.

Swift will be sentenced next month, after pleading guilty to attempted murder and threatening to kill her estranged sister.

According to the police investigation, 32 senior citizens and staff members of the Goldfield Court, became sick with food poisoning.

They were taken to a hospital after complaining of nausea, diarrhea and severe headaches. One person suffered stroke-like symptoms, but has since made a complete recovery.

Swift admitted that she poured bleach into the drinks that were stored in a public fridge in order to kill her colleagues and senior citizens.

Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of the attack.
Police said that Swift sent anonymous blood-stained letters to her sister and a colleague in which she threatened to kill them.

Swift has been remanded in custody pending sentencing.

Prosecutor walks free after refusing to prosecute himself on charges of abuse of office

A top prosecutor who was arrested on a host of charges, walked free after refusing to file charges against himself.

Mutembo Nchito is the top prosecutor in Zambia.

He was brought to court on 9 charges, including abusing his authority, contempt of court and taking loans by using fraudulent means.

However, as the prosecutor, Nchito told the court that he refuses to file charges against himself.

“I am the director of public prosecution of the republic of Zambia, and I am unwilling to pursue the charges,” Mutembo Nchito told the judge.

The court then canceled the charges against Nchito, and ended the legal proceedings against him.

He walked out of court a free man.

However, former finance minister Newton Ng'uni, who brought the complaint against Nchito, vowed to appeal the court’s decision.

Man strangles his wife after she asked prosecutors to drop domestic violence charges against him

Two young children were left without their parents after their mother was killed by their father and he was jailed for life.

Andrea Crew, 31, of Virginia, had called the police after her husband Caleb, attacked her and poured motor oil over her head.

However, when Caleb was in court on charges of domestic violence, Andrea had a change of heart.

She asked the prosecutor to drop all the charges because she did not want the father of her children to be jailed.

The couple walked out of court together, and decided to make things work for the sake of their children.

Caleb, 26, a former Marine who had served time in Afghanistan, lived in Fairfax County, with his wife Andrea and their two daughters, aged 4, and 11 months.

Sadly, Caleb did not share the same level of compassion shown to him by his wife. On their way home, Caleb used the tie he wore to court to strangle his wife.

Caleb admitted that on their way home from court, the two got into an argument and Andrea threatened to call the police.

Caleb said that he could not handle another police call. He flew into a rage and strangled his wife in the back seat of his car.

Caleb then dumped her body in a wooded area and went home to care for their 2 children. After putting their daughters to bed, he returned to dispose of the body.

Caleb threw the body in a river, using a backpack filled with weights and rocks to take it to the bottom, according to police.

Driver brutally beaten after hitting 1-year-old child who ran into his car while chasing after bike

Police are looking to arrest a group of people who beat a driver for running over a child, police in New Zealand said.

Hamilton Police said that the driver who hit the one-year-old child with his car, was rushed to a hospital after suffering cuts and bruises while being beaten.

Police Commander Greg Nicholls said that the incident unfolded around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. According to the police investigation, the one-year-old child was chasing after another child who was riding a bicycle.

At one point, the 1-year-old child ran in front of the moving car on Spenser Road. The 1-year-old child suffered a cut, but the driver was dragged and beaten by the crowd of people who gathered at the scene.

After some time , the driver managed to escape to a nearby house until police arrived. The driver was transported to the Waikato Hospital for treatment.

Nicholls said that the driver did the right thing by stopping, and it was completely unacceptable for people to take matters into their own hands.

So far, no arrests have been made. Police said both the child and the driver were released from the hospital.

Man kicks homeless man in the head for more than an hour because he refused to give up cigarette

A man was arrested, charged and convicted of murder after beating a homeless person over a cigarette, prosecutors in New Zealand said.

29-year-old Justin Vance Turner of Auckland, kicked and punched 48-year-old Maqbool Hussain, in a brutal attack that lasted for more than an hour.

Turner stomped on the head and neck of Hussain, all over a cigarette. Now, Turner has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to murder.

He will have to serve a minimum of 15 years before being eligible for parole. The father of Turner, told the court that he is willing to take the place of his son in jail as he is partly to blame for the murder.

The father said that he had issues with violence and did several stints in jail. He also said that his son became more violent after he was expelled from the family home at 19 years old.

Turner’s mother threw him out of the home after she caught him stealing her wedding ring. Turner has an extensive criminal history, with 110 previous convictions, including 22 assaults.

Turner was out of jail on bail when he killed Hussain.

Nurse stabbed while trying to give medical care to mental health patient

A nurse who was trying to help a mental health patient, was stabbed as she was visiting his home along with a colleague, police in New Zealand said.

Manukau Police said that they arrested the 25-year-old mental health patient on Saturday night, after he allegedly stabbed the nurse who was working for the Counties Manukau District Health Board (DHB).

The DHB said that the incident occurred when the nurse and her colleague conducted a routine visit to the home in Otahuhu.

At some point during his treatment, the man pulled out a knife and the two nurses fled, but one of them was wounded on the way out.

The nurse was taken to a nearby hospital, where she received stitches for stab wounds and was released.

The DHB said that the attack was totally unexpected, and they are reviewing the case to see how to prevent such a thing from happening again in the future.

Counties Manukau Police said that the 25-year-old was arrested and will appear at the Manukau District Court on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Man beaten into coma after being caught watching his friend's wife in the shower

A man was rushed to a hospital after a group of people caught him watching his friend's wife in the shower, police in Nigeria said.

Lagos State Police said that the victim’s neighbors did not like the fact that Koffi was watching the married woman identified as Kudi, as she was showering herself in the bathroom of her home.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded at them woman’s home located on Badore Road on Tuesday. Koffi was caught red-handed after the woman’s husband identified as Mufutau, came home early.

Mufutau quickly alerted his neighbors, who beat Koffi until he fell into a coma. The angry crowd said that this was not the first time that Koffi was caught watching married women.

Luckily, police arrived at the scene and disbursed the angry mob. Koffi was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is said to be in serious condition.

Married man fakes his own kidnapping to extort $400 from his rich wife

A married man who was desperate for a few dollars, decided to fake his own kidnapping to extort money from his wife, police in Mexico said.

Mexico City Police said that they have arrested 36-year-old Eliot Garrido Guido, after being accused of uploading photos on Facebook that showed him tied up and injured.

Guido wrote a message to his wife demanding $460 in exchange for his freedom.

According to the police investigation, Guido was jealous of his wife, Constanza, 34, because she was earning more money than him working as a banker.

The husband enlisted the help of 42-year-old Martinez Reyes, who tied him to a chain in an abandoned house and smeared him with fake blood.

The two then uploaded images on Facebook, saying that the husband is being held captive somewhere in Playa del Carmen.

Constanza was also told that her husband was being tortured and that he will be killed if she does not pay the $460.

The horrified woman immediately contacted the police, who noticed that the messages were being sent from a location near the wife’s home and not from Playa del Carmen, which is about 900 miles away from Mexico City.

Police found the husband and his accomplice in the abandoned house and arrested them. If convicted, they both face up to 5 years in prison.

Man kills cousin with steel baseball bat because he couldn't stand him anymore

A man who was arrested on charges of murder for killing his cousin, told police that he beat him with a steel baseball bat because he couldn’t stand him anymore, police in Japan said.

Aichi Police said that they have arrested 52-year-old Katayuki Sakaguchi, on suspicion of killing his cousin while he slept around 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to the police investigation, Sakaguchi came to the police station on Wednesday afternoon, and confessed to killing his cousin with the metal baseball bat.

Police officers who went to the suspect’s home, found Sakaguchi's 40-year-old cousin laying dead on the floor of the living room.

Police said that the victim had been hit from behind while sleeping.

During questioning, Sakaguchi told police that over the past several months, he lived with his cousin who was sick, but there was trouble between them and he could not stand him any longer so he killed him.

Good Samaritan falls to her death from bridge while attempting to help accident victim

(Scroll down for video) A woman died after she fell off a bridge while helping an accident victim.

34-year-old Lauren Mohr of Connecticut, was trying to help two victims of a hit-and-run incident on Interstate 91 in New Haven, when she died.

Mohr had finished her shift at the Barcelona Restaurant in New Haven around 12:30 a.m., when she witnessed a hit and run incident.

She stopped, called police and waited with the victims, according to family members.

While waiting for help to arrive, Mohr saw another car spinning out of control. As she jumped out of the way of the approaching vehicle, she fell over a concrete wall and off the bridge, landing about 40 feet below, State Police said.

Police said that Elvin Ayala, 33, of Branford, hit the car of a 25-year-old woman. Ayala then fled the scene.

Ayala was later arrested and charged with evading responsibility, operating while under suspension and following too closely, according to State Police.

So far, no one has been arrested in the accidental death of Mohr.

Woman who forced girls into prostitution caught performing at school assembly

(Scroll down for video) A female registered sex offender hid her identity from school administrators so that she can perform at the school assembly.

School officials in Washington, apologized to angry parents after Melissa Salsbury performed at their Kiona-Benton City High School, despite the fact that she was a convicted sex offender.

The event was organized by “Money Over Misery,” which is an entertainment company that has models and musicians who visit schools to promote self-esteem and awareness against peer pressure and bullying.

One of the speakers was Salsbury. She allegedly used her model name Mia Rose, when she went to the school.

Salsbury, 23, was ordered to register as a sex offender after she was convicted of running a prostitution ring.

With the help of her husband, Salsbury manipulated, coerced and extorted several underage girls into having sex with men while she kept the money.

Salsbury was ordered to stay away from school grounds, but she used her fake alias to get close to the girls.

Salsbury posed for photos with female students at the school before her true identity was uncovered.

She was arrested for violating her court order and is being held without bail.

Man wakes up to girlfriend biting off his private parts as punishment for insulting her

(Scroll down for video) A man was hospitalized and needed stitches after his angry girlfriend tried to bite off his private parts.

31-year-old Amber Ellis of Oklahoma, was arrested after she bit the private parts of her boyfriend.

She also hit the victim in the head with a laptop when he attempted to get her off of him.

According to a police, the man said that he and Ellis, were out drinking on Wednesday night. On the way home, they got into an argument and he accused her of being “too needy.”

When they returned to their apartment in the 7600 block of East 49th Street in Tulsa, the woman went to the bedroom and closed the door behind her.

Her boyfriend, who fell asleep on the couch in the living room, woke up to her biting his private parts.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he received 4 stitches to the base of his private parts.

He also had bruises on his head, face, neck, fingers and knees.

Ellis was charged of maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon. She was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County jail, and her bail was set at $25,000.

Woman shows up to arraignment of her accomplices with stolen watch

A female thief made the job of the police much easier when she walked into the courtroom with a stolen watch.

The woman of New York, was caught after she appeared at the arraignment of her accomplices, wearing the rose gold watch, which was stolen during the robbery.

Officers noticed that 23-year-old Kiaralys Torres, was wearing the $2,200 watch, which was stolen from a home during an armed robbery.

Police detained her for questioning before she was arrested.

Investigators said that Torres, set up an appointment to meet a perfume salesperson, pretending to be interested in bulk purchases, court documents state.

She then showed up at the home with two accomplices.

The two men who were identified as Henry Fernandez and Pete Vega, posed as police officers, according to the criminal complaint.

The men wore police shields around their necks and allegedly threatened to place the person under arrest for credit card fraud.

The victim was handcuffed at gunpoint before the suspects raided his home. They demanded to know where the victim’s money was hidden. The men allegedly stole $16,000 in valuables, including the watch, and $2,200 in cash, according to court documents.

Police arrested several of the suspects involved in the robbery, but Torres remained free. However, that changed when she appeared in federal court in Brooklyn, to watch the arraignment of her accomplices with the stolen watch.

Officers raided the home where Torres lived and allegedly found several items that were stolen during the robbery.

Torres was arrested and her bail was set at $100,000. She was also ordered to wear an electronic ankle monitor.

Man accidentally burns down home after proposing to girlfriend on her birthday

(Scroll down for video) What started as the perfect day for a woman ended with her home burning down.

A man of New Jersey, proposed to his girlfriend on her birthday before cooking breakfast for her and the family.

Isaiah Cox said that he was preparing breakfast in his Millville home around 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, when he heard his son crying.

He left the kitchen and went to get the 1-year-old child, but when he returned, the kitchen was on fire.

The cabinets had apparently caught on fire from the oil that was left unattended on the stove, according to firefighters.

His attempts to put the fire were not successful. The newly engaged man, grabbed his fiancee, his 5-month-old daughter, 1-year-old son, his sister and dog, and fled from the home.

Firefighters arrived and it took three hours to put out the flames. The second and third floors of the building were severely damaged by the fire.

No one was injured in the incident. The American Red Cross is helping Cox and two other families who were left homeless after the fire.

Mother holds down female police officer while daughter was punching her

A police officer was hospitalized after being beaten by a woman.

Police said that 24-year-old Nephatira Dansby, was at an airport in New Jersey, to pick up her mother who was returning from New Orleans, Louisiana.

While waiting for her mother at the Newark Liberty International Airport, Katrina Dansby, 41, was approached by the female officer who asked her to move the vehicle which was blocking two lanes of traffic.

Dansby allegedly opened the car door and pushed the officer out of the way. She then allegedly punched the officer in the face.

Authorities said that when the mother came out of the airport and saw her daughter assaulting the officer, she held the officer down while her daughter punched her several more times.

The mother and daughter were arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer. The officer was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for injuries to her face and knee.
