(Scroll down for video) A security guard is under investigation for grabbing a young child away from her mother while she was breastfeeding.
Caroline Starmer, 28, of Leicester, England, said that the security guard ordered her to stop feeding her daughter at a clothing store.
The mother of 4 children was shopping at Primark with her 9-month-old twins when she went to breastfeed one of them behind a mannequin.
The unidentified man ordered her to leave the shop, but she refused, saying that it was her right to breastfeed her baby wherever she wanted.
After she would not comply with the orders of the security guard, he suddenly grabbed her baby away from her chest, began walking away and said: “If you want your baby back follow me.”
Starmer ran after the man and grabbed the baby out of his arms. She then left the store and reported the incident to the Leicestershire police.
The man was described as Asian and 5 foot 10 inches tall.
A spokesperson for Primark said: “We want to make it absolutely clear that mothers are welcome to breastfeed in our stores. We are investigating this incident and take these claims very seriously.”
However, the company declined to say whether the security guard is still working at their store.
