(Scroll down for video) A mother of Florida, was arrested after she dumped her children at the side of a road when they begged her not to drive drunk.
Elissa Carter-Lopez, 38, of Seminole County, was arrested after police said she left her 3 children in her car while she went to a bar and then left them on the side of a busy intersection on Saturday night.
The children said that they were afraid of their mother's erratic driving and asked her repeatedly to pull over. After the children left the car, their mother drove away.
Witnesses called police to report the incident, which occurred about 9:45 p.m. Carter-Lopez was charged with 3 counts of child neglect without great bodily harm and one count of DUI accompanied by a person under 18 years of age.
Altamonte Springs police said that Carter-Lopez took her children for haircuts. Then she went to a bar and left the children in the vehicle.
When they were finally on their way home, the children told police that they were afraid of their mother's erratic driving and left the vehicle when she stopped at the busy intersection of State Road 436 and Orange Avenue.
