(Scroll down for video) Police were looking for a man who “threatened suicide by cops” after cutting off his hand.
Police were called after Quentin Dunaway, 32, of Nebraska, stabbed himself several times with a knife before leaving home in a red Ford Fusion.
Officers in Omaha, searched for Dunaway, but were unable to find him. Hospitals were alerted to be on the lookout for him if he seeks medical attention.
At 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the police were called back to the house after Dunaway returned. After arriving back at the residence, Dunaway completely cut off one of his hands with a knife. He then fled the home again.
About 45 minutes later, police responded to an accident near Interstate 80 and 24th Street, where a red Ford Fusion had crashed into a bridge.
The driver of the vehicle was determined to be Dunaway. He was transported to Nebraska Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police do not yet know if Dunaway crashed on purpose or if it was an accident after suffering immense pain from the self inflicted wounds.
