Ebay was slapped with a lawsuit after removing a weed hat listing that was posted for sale by 30-year-old Zaky Mallah of Australia.
Mallah of Sydney, filed the $30,000 lawsuit in a New South Wales court after Ebay delisted the weed hat, which was claimed to have special powers.
Mallah wrote that he was wearing the hat while being interviewed on television and was able to disrupt the broadcast thanks to the power of the hat.
Mallah was charged with terrorism after saying that Muslims in the community have the right to fight for ISIS because of the way they are treated in the country.
The comment was taken as an endorsement of the Islamic State. Mallah denied the charge. Ebay removed the hat listing, saying it violated company policy against the gratuitous comments.
Mallah is seeking $30,000 in damages, $15,000 for the hat and the other $15,000 for stress.
